Develop a central dashboard to monitor progress towards the SDGs
Objective
Build knowledge and provide evidence-based alternatives and proposals to assist the National Committee in following up on the achievement of the SDGs.
Overview
The dashboard is an integrated system based on measurement indicators used to regularly monitor progress in the 2030 Agenda Goals and targets, and to ensure that they are achieved in accordance with national targets.
- The dashboard is used to prepare an annual report to monitor progress towards the SDGs and offer recommendations on their achievement and the related challenges and solutions.
- It also contributes to coordinating the processes of aligning the 2030 Agenda SDGs and targets with the future vision (Oman Vision 2040) and implementation plans.
- The dashboard facilitated the development of policy papers on the level of achieving the 2030 Agenda, the formulation of the proposed policies reflected in the objectives and priorities of the tenth Five-Year Development Plan (2021–2025), the support of policymakers’ and decision makers’ efforts in the areas of planning, and the launch of development programmes.
Challenges
Limited availability of data at the Governorate level, which hinders the development of similar dashboards at the local level.
