Adopting a participatory approach in preparing the VNR

Objective

Achieve a broad participation of government and community stakeholders in the preparation of the VNR.

Overview

Jordan sought to strengthen the whole-of-government and whole-of-society approach in preparing the 2022 VNR. A series of workshops were organized at different levels and with different participants to discuss the chapters of the report prepared by the task forces for monitoring progress in SDG implementation. These task forces include representatives from relevant governmental and non-governmental bodies and the private sector. The workshops, which were organized at the national and Governorate levels, garnered substantial participation from representatives of ministries, the private sector, civil society organizations, and international organizations, as well as heads of committees in parliament, provincial and municipal councils, experts and academics, representatives of local communities, unions and young persons.

To ensure continued discussions at the national level, a platform was established to hold hearing and commenting sessions on the chapters of the 2022 Voluntary National Report. These chapters were widely disseminated on social networks and official websites, allowing different segments of society to view and comment thereon.
